cold start on a G60

i have mk1 golf with a rado g60 engine in it

 

when i start it up from stone cold (eg in the morning)

 

the engine dosen't fast idle :( it will hunt up and down but i drive it 20 sec down the road to the first junction and it idles perfect

 

any ideas??

worth cleaning the isv out?

 

possibly the bts (blue temp sensor) also,but you would normally see high fuel consumption if this had gone...
