what drop ....springs

Recommended Posts

Hi anyone help have got some springs with marks on the front ones stating VW o11 VA50/02 and on the back ones VW 010HA 44/02 ......what does it mean . I thought it might be relevant to the drop in normal height? I want to lower my VR6 but only slightly.

Bones, those numbers prolly refer to something like 'VR6 without aircon'. The VA means Vorne(front) and HA means Hinte(Rear). Apologies about my spelling to any Germans reading!

I doubt you could safely associate the numbers with a specific drop.

Best bet is to buy some springs(and shocks). Or Coilovers if you are minted and after exactly the right height.

Try bonrath if you only want to drop it a little bit as they do some top mounts that lower the car by 15mm you dont have to change the springs or shocks as far as I know, if you want to drop it a little more than that ie 30-40 then go for a set of springs there are thousands out there available with all different rates of spring rates as long as your shocks are in good order you wouldn't have to change them for uprated jobbiesso that will save you a bob or 2. Hope this helps
