door latch problem????

Recommended Posts

right for the past 2-3 months my pass.side door hasn't been able to open from inside or outside, what happens is when the remote or key is used the rest of the doors open and the pass.door stays shut however the door knob on the pass.side rises as normal but then falls down a little bit more........ive checked it with another C/L pump and it still does the same would i be right in thinking its the latch itself???? or is it likely to be anything else............if it is the latch..........how am i likely to get the door card off to get to it(is there a way of minimizing the damage???)

any help appreaciated

sounds as though the little metal linkage has broken that attatches to the latch via a plastic shrouding. they are a bit of a fecker to work with being in a tight space too :(

and! maybe your door handle(exterior) is broken too!

neil.

I think this could be the air pipe to that door - check it isn't creased / split or just crimped where it goes thru to the door in the rubber tube (I had a similar issue in a Golf where the pipe seemed to get twisted)
