Andi 2,147,483,647 Posted February 17, 2003 There is no way the C speedo goes out by 11mph at 100mph. I don't know how it was before - but my speedo is dead right at 100mph on 205/40/17s - 'cos I have SatNav which shows you the speed whilst 7 satelites are tracking me  The difference between 205/40/17s and 205/50/15s at 100mph is about 1-2mph iirc - not a great difference. jmk 0 Posted February 19, 2003 Banana man / Nigel This site lets you work our the speed differences depending upon which size wheel / tyre you have fitted. http://www.fernblatt.com/longhurst/tyre_bible.html It suggests that at a stated 70mph on your speedo you'll be doing a true 72.4mph. So at a stated 100 mph you're likely to be doing 103.5mph.

Scott 0 Posted February 20, 2003 Back to the subject *:) - Tyres........ Anyone got experience of using Dunlop SP 2000's and compared them to any of the top brand stuff ? I ask as currently have dunlop SP's ........ in the dry they seem very good but are totally pants in wet (read wheel spin in a straight line in 3rd gear at 70mph and you'll get my drift).... ? Scott. jmk 0 Posted February 20, 2003 Scott, I agree with you about the Dunlops. Get my car back tomorrow with new fronts and will email you after the weekend and let you know what their wet weather perfromance is like - it's bound to rain on Sat / Sun after being fine all week :D
