How do I Remove the tape holder?

how the bloody hell do you remove the tape holder - same place the vdo gauges are - trying to do my heater matrix - I am about to kill someone!

 

Any help is much appreciated, thank you!

the surround to the tape holder clips on and off so it needs to be pulled off but be carefull as the clips are fragile.

once the surround is off youll see screws that need to be undone.

you done need to remove the tape holder to do the matrix remove the lower dash panels in the footwell and the bolt for the lower dash is tucked n behind where the holder fits. bolts to a metal bar welded to the floor iirc.

you got to takes the plastic suround off with a small screw driver to pry it out then you can get to the screws and the little electric plug behind it.

I got mine off last week.

Cheers Guys, got the surround off and then the whole tape unit just came off without any screws?

 

I thought I had to take the center console out to do the matrix?

started at 13:00!

Lots of cuts and grazes later and still no where near...

you dont need that part of the dash out for matrix fix , you dont even need any of the dash out just lower trim.

 

trust me i've fixed 4 and one was a VR6. :wink:
