Hey im a newbie ! -- Looking for a VR6

Recommended Posts

Im off to look at a VR6 tomorrow morning as its quite a bargain.

New engine 40k ago

Full VW service history

Leather, leccy seats etc

Car has done 123k

is there anything in particular i need to look out for when looking for a decent VR?

i have 'The Golf' magazines corrado buyers guide to help me too, but thought you guys may be able to be a little more specific.

Thanks - Tom 8)

Good VR engine should be smooth accelerating, start first time every time, cooling system is pushed to the limit when you are in town and sitting in traffic so let it get fully hot to check it is all working ok, don't worry too much about it getting to 100+ degrees when it is sitting still tho. Lumpy idling is common and no big deal.

well that all went wrong, i rang him this morning to check he still had it and he said yes.

I made an appointment to see mr bank manager (not his real name) and sorted a 5k loan.

i phone the bloke to say id have it and it turns out someone bought it whilst i was in the bank.

anyone know any clean vr6's on the south coast for either side of £4k?

i need the rest for insurance and/or a cat1 alarm if need be.

Anoying yes but, don't panic. You could now be in danger of buying the first C you come accross. Take your time & as my old grandad used to say 'if its for you, it won't pass you'.

Good luck
