pringles 0 Posted September 20, 2003 Im off to look at a VR6 tomorrow morning as its quite a bargain. New engine 40k ago Full VW service history Leather, leccy seats etc Car has done 123k is there anything in particular i need to look out for when looking for a decent VR? i have 'The Golf' magazines corrado buyers guide to help me too, but thought you guys may be able to be a little more specific. Thanks - Tom 8)
BarneyVR6 0 Posted September 20, 2003 Good VR engine should be smooth accelerating, start first time every time, cooling system is pushed to the limit when you are in town and sitting in traffic so let it get fully hot to check it is all working ok, don't worry too much about it getting to 100+ degrees when it is sitting still tho. Lumpy idling is common and no big deal.

dan 0 Posted September 22, 2003 Anoying yes but, don't panic. You could now be in danger of buying the first C you come accross. Take your time & as my old grandad used to say 'if its for you, it won't pass you'. Good luck
