Nick 0 Posted June 17, 2006 I had a quick search, but couldnt find a definative answer. Will an Audi S3 1.8 5V engine fit and work in my G60. I already have a VR6 clutch, but the engine comes with a 6 speed gearbox. Would i need this, or will it work by bolting to my 5 speed box? I dont imagine it will, but you i wont know unless i ask. Blue_Joe 0 Posted June 17, 2006 It will fit in. You'll have to use the 6speed box I would have thought and get the appropriate driveshafts. Also you'll obviously need the ECU, wiring loom, etc etc to do the full transplant. Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Nick 0 Posted June 17, 2006 The engine comes with ECU, clocks, inlet & exhaust manifolds, keys, pipework and loom all on the subframe. If so check out dougs car on http://www.coupehaus.co.uk - I was getting the engine mixed with that, but even so it should still go in with a little enginuity (like what I did there!????) mtc R32 0 Posted June 17, 2006 The Audi S3 engines are the same as the golfs (5Valves per cylinder). The turbos are bigger on the S3's to get them t the 225bhp... mk2_20vt 0 Posted June 19, 2006 You have PM. 6spd box a PITA to fit and very heavy because of the transfer box bolted to it which you wont need being only FWD.
