Did anyone go to Le Mans this year?

 

I am driving down to SW France this summer, and my question is, "Is the Autoroute between Rouen and Le Mans now completed?" My 2005 vintage map book shows it under construction.

It is indeed completed, as I was driving down it approximately 2 weeks ago on my way down. It's a lovely bit of road and nearly all dual carriageway (handy if you're in something as slow as I was...)

You'll pick up the road signs for the new motorway as you negotiate your way around Rouen. As Tom says - excellent piece of road.

I've just remembered though, be prepared to queue through the centre of Rouen, as it goes from open road to traffic jam almost immediately and with very little warning! We were crawling though the centre of town for about 45 mins watching Caterhams overheat :-)

I intend to stay overnight in Rouen in any case, so I have factored the trudge into and out of town in my schedule.
