Drivers window not going all the way up

Recommended Posts

Hi all. My drivers window (93 vr6) is stopping short about 5 mm from totally closing. Its just short enough for wind noise to get on my wick, but not let water in. I can manually drag it up and it stays seated properly until I open and close it again... its as if the mechanism's forgot about the 5mm further it has to travel :)

Any suggestions?

Cheers!

Might be worth disconecting and reconecting the battery... mine gets confused every now and again but stops about 3 inches short and this is the only cure I've found :?

Well fully closed the window by pulling it up and whipped off the battery for 5 minutes.. no joy. Did the same with the window fully down.. no joy. I'll try it tomorrow when I can leave the battery off a bit longer

Sounds the same as mine......plastic cable guide at the top of the of the mech had cracked allowing the cable to slip down enough to stop it pulling the window all the way up. Is it noisy? Did a bodge repair which lasted a year or so before I had to change the whole mech unit.$$$$!
