capnahab 0 Posted June 28, 2006 Hi all. My drivers window (93 vr6) is stopping short about 5 mm from totally closing. Its just short enough for wind noise to get on my wick, but not let water in. I can manually drag it up and it stays seated properly until I open and close it again... its as if the mechanism's forgot about the 5mm further it has to travel :) Any suggestions? Cheers! Phil K 0 Posted June 28, 2006 Might be worth disconecting and reconecting the battery... mine gets confused every now and again but stops about 3 inches short and this is the only cure I've found :?
capnahab 0 Posted June 28, 2006 Thats a very good point.. come to think of it, it started after I popped the battery off to reset my alarm.. Ill go try that now! Cheers phil

capnahab 0 Posted June 28, 2006 Well fully closed the window by pulling it up and whipped off the battery for 5 minutes.. no joy. Did the same with the window fully down.. no joy. I'll try it tomorrow when I can leave the battery off a bit longer

buttles 0 Posted July 1, 2006 Sounds the same as mine......plastic cable guide at the top of the of the mech had cracked allowing the cable to slip down enough to stop it pulling the window all the way up. Is it noisy? Did a bodge repair which lasted a year or so before I had to change the whole mech unit.$$$$!
