G60 ECU Vacuum pipe (1M)

Recommended Posts

Can somebody tell me what would happen if the 1m long ecu vacuum pipe was either too short or too long?? I have heard of leaks in the system but what would happen if the pipe not at the correct length?

WOuld this play havoc with the ecu?

Cheers

i guess so yes,as it would register more or less vacuum or boost.

I remember using different lengths of pipe on my actuator on my metro turbo to increase the boost

It just occured to me last night that if i am at the limit of my map sensor at 15 psi that a shorter ecu vacuum would effect my car more than others as i am making greater boost. i am going to conduct an experiment tonight and put on a new vacuum pipe which is exactly 1m long and see what the old one measures. :-)
