Dash light stopped working.....

Recommended Posts

Howaya folks, The car's a 91 G60 and last night the dash lights just stopped working while driving home. All other lights apart from the dash lights and the gauges below the ash tray still work including the light in the middle of the light switch for the side lights.

I swapped the fuses and still nothing. The electric window switches etc are still illuminated if u get me. Could it be the dimmer switch? I know how to loop it so i might have a go later as i had to do it on my old mk2 golf.

Any suggestions welcome folks. Cheers!

If the fog lamp and heated rear window switches are still illuminating, it's not the dimmer or light switch... ;)

More likely a dodgy connection onto the back of the clocks...

I have a similar problem...

Heater control lights and cigarette lighter are not lit up. I take it there are other thngs on that fuse (which are working) so not a fuse. Took the front off earlier and it's hard to work out what's going on behind there... Any ideas?

Bit of an update, Changed the switch the other night and still nothing. Did a bit of looking around and it appears that a home made buzzer has been wired into the headlight switch, this also has stopped working. I'm guessing its connected??

Also, are the lights wired in series? (Chistmas tree syndome) as someone pointed out?

Hmmm, time for the clocks out nd have a look at the back of them. Had a check of all fuses and relays and everything seems to be fine. Its just annoying at this stage.
