that sinking feeling...

Recommended Posts

ive spent the last few days at the garage helping el rebuild the vr, finally after near on 2 days straight, at 1am today we get it all back together and filled with fluids.....

....start it up and it hemorages all its collant from the pipe that runs along the front of the block...the o ring had poped.

nothing feels so gutting.

back today to strip it down again to get to the mo-foing o ring.

im sure i'll love it when im back driving it, but right now i want to kill it.

gah.

I know the feeling well mate... I've broken my car more times than I care to remember and normally find I've forgotten to do one little simple job just as I'm about to fire it back up again...

finished it at 1am today.....

having fixed the o-ring leak, the bit on the side of the head decided not to play ball...took it off to clean it out and change the funny chaped ring and noticed the head was pitted around where it needed to seal......

some gasket seal, a new gasket and 12 hours later...all was well :D

knocked up 85 miles last night so today it should be run in enough for me to have a play :D

heres part of the reason for the rebuild in the first place....

i have a whole box of other expensive bits that look just like this..... and the valve guides were really knakered.....

just goes to show that a one owner car with full vwsh can still need work....
