URGENT - PLEASE HELP ME BUY!!

Recommended Posts

:!: Can you help...?

eversince I was a kid the Corrado has been the car of my dreams...now Im finally in a position to permit myself one...and I've found one:

1993 2.0 16V (imported from Germany)

It is Left hand drive which is what I need as Im gonna take it abroad - but it doesnt have any service history! Has 200K (km) on the clock and the fella wants £1700...Metallic Green - immaculate body work and cream leather interior

But I need advice on buying this car without service history - an old freind of mine who is a VW mechanic advised me against the 16V engine as troublesome...can anyone advise further?

I will really appreciate any info you can give me...

deffo wouldn't refer to the 16v engine as "troublesome".....ran mine from 128k up to 144k without a single hickup at all! I'd consider them to be one of the more reliable points on Corrados!

I wouldnt say its trouble at all

Its probably one of the more bomb proof engines a corrado has.

cambelt and tensioner should be the only thing I would get done.

Use the search facility sorry if I sound like a stuck record

yeah, 125k (miles) and no service history would deffo need a good checkover at least! you could use it as a bargaining point to get some money off the asking price though
