  1. was in a petrol station not long after i got the G and was wandering in to pay minding my own business as you do when a guy made a point of stopping me just to say "nice car". i was gobsmacked and just managed to offer a "thanks". its what c ownership is all about, complete strangers making your day.
  2. what a nerve, i would have told him he was lucky to have such minor qualms with a used car. its the first law of the private sale, buyer beware, no warranty implied or given. you have the moral high ground here, he should be embarrassed.
  3. Talk about hi-jacking the thread  Anyway rx8s, let me begin by saying nnnnooooooo It dont matter what you bolt on the back of it , you aint gonna improve that engine note. They only ever, ever look good driven by women, or richard hammond, you get my drift either way. Mpg is seriously low, only ever low twenties, forget about the 70000 mile lifespan, you'll be broke before it gets there
  4. On the contrary, 17 year old cars are about the only ones that can be nicked without the keys nowadays. Would be very surprised if this isnt some local scum who had an opportunistic joyride. Gutted for you, i know how I'd feel, hope it comes back in one piece.
  5. A quick re-cap above for those who have posted complaining about being flashed or tailgated Problem: YOU Solution: MOVE OVER
  6. For the sake of sixty quid, you might be better off holding on to them. your car will realise more value than this when selling if you can supply the original alloys with it.
  7. Hi Mushy, i've had my g60 for two and a half years now and touch wood its been rock solid reliability wise. As for mpg i think its nothing short of miraculous. I get 30-35mpg on long motorway cruises at 70-90mph and cruising at 45-55 its possible to see over 40mpg on the mfa, far better than any other 1.8ltr cars i've owned. As for the charger, check the boost levels as per the buying guide, and get it rebuilt if it hasnt been done. They are a bit of an enigma though and its been known for even recently rebuilt ones to go pop. They do seem to be reasonably easy to come by though thanks to the extremely generous people on here, i've had two offers within a week of placing a wanted ad. Personally i'd go for a standard charger, if not a standard car, as its your best clue has to how its been driven, and as with buying any car sizing up the owner is as important as sizing up the car good luck dave
  8. we recently had our first 3-lane highway in the country opened just outside Dublin (ah the innocence) and funnily enough drivers have settled in to these new rules rightaway. Far lane hoggers can be explained easy enough, they're just a*seholes, but its the middle laners who get to me. What possess anyone to leave a perfectly clear lane to drive in another at the same speed is beyond me. My only theory is that these people somehow perceive the middle lane as the one they "belong" in, not too fast or slow, and as long as they stay there, they wont affect any other traffic. Morons, complete and utter
  9. had the exact same prob after mine was fitted, brought it back and had it back sealed too,but the lad who did it said it never works. sure enough it didnt Bring it back and insist on a new one being put in, as they have to be put in right initially, ask for a top tint screen while you're at it, they're cool 8)
  10. there's already a sticky on this subject, very common problem that anti car-jack thingy sounds more trouble than its worth
  11. think i remember reading only 1200 or so g60's were imported in doubt if theres more than two-thirds left now, maybe only half
  12. Update..after my first loom disappeared in transit Andy very kindly sent me another at no charge, top service.

    Insurance

hi mate imo all insurance companies will screw you over if you have to make a claim, thats why they're in the business afterall i always look at insurance as dead money, you never get back what you put in, so my advice is get the cheapest quote you can and spend the rest on securing your car.
  15. shh...my gf wanted to know if the flash still worked when the lights werent on she's not a bad driver though, honest!
