morpheus20170 0 Posted September 10, 2006 I have an old alarm on my G60 and yesterday it started playing up again, not shutting the windows but it did shut the doors but then it wouldn't open the doors :0( fortunate I suppose that it didn't close the windows as I would have been in through the boot otherwise, I couldn't get the alarm to stop and then finally it worked, why all this happened I don't know but the keyfob thing is not very good and I don't really want to leave it much longer so I need to know what to stick clear of please? I have been told by some people to stick clear of Clifford but Huets Car Radio seem to think they are fine so if someone could let me know what to look out for that would be great. Thanks in advance, Paul
dinkus 10 Posted September 10, 2006 TBH, most of the Cat1 stuff is much of a muchness, the most important part is who fits it. It doesn't matter how good the alarm is, if some chimp has fitted it and made loads of crappy connections in stupid places, then it'll cause you constant grief. Clifford, Toad and Autowatch all get good reviews on here (plus probably some others that I can't remember), but make sure you get it fitted by a good place. It might cost you more, but it's worth every penny. Edit: And I think full-closure is part of the Cat1 spec, so they all have to do it...
