quickfade 0 Posted September 21, 2006 Just few embarrassing questions really  , as I'm new to all this. But I would just like to say it is wicked owning a corrado, I was picking a friend up in towcester the other weekend and someone in a rado VR6 came past an gave me a wave, which makes you feel part of a community. it was cool..... sad I know  First question - till the engine is up to temp from cold, the oil light will flash and beep at me, if I go over 2500 rpm ? Second question - I've heard + read, but can't seem to do it, how do to change the MFA read out to work as a boost gauge, I mean the car goes like a rocket but just want to make sure the blower it making the right amount of boost. I got my G60 off ebay for £1300, it needs a bit of TLC + the interior needs fixing up, mainly the dash plastics, the body work is ok but needs a good T-cutting and my be a mop an polish. Anyway thanks in advance for any advice Lee
vr6storm 0 Posted September 21, 2006 1Q.........thats the oil pressure warning buzzer.....could just be a faulty switch or worse case could be a knackered oil pump 2Q...........use the search on here.......it is somewhere

Pickard1 0 Posted September 22, 2006 Hello Lee, Is the oil level correct? Lubrication is essential with a G60 as you have the supercharger spinning at something like 1.3 x engine RPM. If it isnt getting enough oil then it will seize and then grenade itself. This has happened to me and it isnt funny  I would suggest not to drive the car "like a rocket" or preferably at all, until you get this sorted. Hopefully it is just a faulty sender. 8)
_leon_ 0 Posted September 22, 2006 an oil pump is quite easy to change - just so you know :)
quickfade 0 Posted September 22, 2006 ye the oil leave is ok, the first thing I did after getting the car was service it. (oil, fiter, plugs, air filter) I was wondering if was a sender problem, as the other thing that doesn't work it the oil temp display on the dash (MFA). So i guess the first port of call then is replace the high and lower oil pressure switchs?? And if that doesn't work, it guess it's drop the sump and change the oil pump?? The oil pressure switches are they the same as used on the MK2 golf GTI with Digifant 2 control??
