Fan only works when engine not running

Hi Guys,

 

Wondered if anyone would know why my fan doesnt cut in whilst the engine's running, which obviously causes overheating, and then as soon as you turn the engine off it cuts straight in....?

 

Would appreciate any help

Two circuits control the fans. As you've no doubt worked out. The ignition on circuit uses the thermoswitch in the radiator. The ignition-off circuit uses the control box in front of the expansion tank.

Sounds like you need a new thermoswitch ..
