Gearbox Assistance (Part No. Final Drive etc.) Mk2 Golf

The gearbox on my MK2 GTD is unhappy and needs replacing.

Is there a kind soul out there who can tell my the type of box (080? perhaps), and what other cars it's shared with please (I'm thinking a Passat from the same era perhaps)?

It's the standard 5-speed from the GTD, but any suitable replacement with the same final drive that will fit will do!

Any assistance greatly appreciated...

I think it will be an 020 box.

I'm not sure if the Toledos have an 020 rod change box, but it might be worth giving him a bell? Alternatively I have a 020 Gti box (AUG code), but I don't know if the ratios will suit - pm me if you wish

Due to those very useful links, it turns out it's an 020 code 4T. I think it's going to have to be a recon box tbh, as at least then I'll know what I'm getting is spot on, and has a years guarantee.

Sorry to resurect this, but I'm in need of assistance again. I'm still on the look out for a 4T box, which my local VW supplier tells me was fitted to 1.6 Petrol Jettas/Golfs as well as the 1.6GTD which I have.

Is there any way of verifying that these boxes are the same? I don't want to shell out on a box with the wrong ratios.

Can anyone with ETKA assist please?
