Rear window de-mister/heater problem

Recommended Posts

Snap!

Mines exactly the same,i think the 'hotspots' are where the strip is damaged and the electrical current is passing through the moisture instead of the wire.

You have just reminded me that i needed to order this : http://www.frost.co.uk/item_Detail.asp?productID=8934&frostProductName=Electro%20Connector

It should solve the problem - hopefully.

Basically only about 2 or 3 of the thin metal strips across my rear screen actually work! the ones that don't work seem to have 'hot spots' where a tiny circle of the glass clears around a point on the strip...

Is there anyway of repairing them or getting a company to re-do them?

My C tends to mist up quite quickly when it's wet and it does my head in not being able to get a clear view of the people I just overtaken

Has anyone done this and had sucess? Would like to see some pics of repaired ones so I can see how obvious it is when used...

As soon as mine comes i will get on it and get it sorted,i did it on a beetle years ago with success although this was an aftermarket de-mister with each 'bar' being about 15mm wide!

Will let you know how it does..
