Old hat, there are quite a few threads on the Iroc here, especially as 2 folks from this forum went across to a pre-Paris Motorshow event, organised by VW in Berlin in August this summer just gone, all expenses paid by VW (well, they short-changed me by about 20 quid, actually :-( ).

guess who's probably not getting a scirocco? yep... The United States of America... how crappy is that? they're saying last time they had a "sports car" here in the USA it sold very poorly, i.e. the Corrado and they feel it's probably not worth the money to make them legal here in the states. that sucks!!!!!!!! cause i was legitamately planning on it being my next car... not the first year it came out cause nothing is ever right the first year, but the 2nd year i was gonna buy one...

Ah but you guys have 34" rims though and purpose made drifting cars :-)

You don't want a Pea green Scirocco anyway, stick with the proper Coupe ;-)

Who knows what's going to happen to the Iroc, now that Winterkorn, Audi's ex-Boss, is at the helm of VW.

Bernhard, who Jim and I went to see in Berlin in August, has resigned from his post of VW-boss

Was to be expected, since his boss, Pischetsrieder was told to leave by top-boss himself Piech.

Piech however, is urged to leave by the 2nd largest shareholder, the land of Lower Saxony, as Wulff, premier of the land of Lower Saxony and hence representative as a shareholder, believes Piech to be too closely involved with Porsche, the largest shareholder in VW (currently 27%, looking at increasing their shareholding to 29%). Wulff is fed up with all the management shuffles in VW as of recent.

Politics within the VW conglomerate ...
