Recommend a Garage near Epsom

Evening all,

 

My sister is having a bit of a mare with her mk3 Golf GTI. She has had the following quote from the VW dealership to do the following work (the car only went for a service!)

 

Cost of service: £221.93

Replace nearside rear ABS sensor: £208.87

Replace PAS belt: £49

Replace distributor cap & arm: £64.53

Replace rear wheel bearing: £54.70

Resolve excessive movement in front suspension: £252.68

Replace front tyres (currently 2mm): £163.40

Centre & rear exhaust corroded (but not blowing yet): £317.39

Wishbones on front suspension need replacing: £527.78

 

With VAT this comes to over £2000!! (i.e. the value of the car!)

 

 

These prices are well over the top so she has asked me to find out if there is a VW specialist near Epsom that anyone could recommend.

 

Any help would be really appreciated!

Id be tempted to ask Phil K, sure hes from the surrey area.

 

Reckon hed be able to point you in the right direction.

 

Definitely right not to get the work done, get the stamp in the book from VW and take the rest elsewhere...

Thanks for the replies. I couldn't believe the price of the ABS sensor either. Rip off merchants.
