chaz g60 0 Posted January 2, 2007 Scary thing happend to me new years eve, I was driving to cornwall and had a nice clear strech so put my foot down to give my recently re built charger a wind up, got to about 4500 revs when boom!!!! my sunroof flew off on the a30! scared the crap out of me, It wasn't open but allways sounded like it wasn't sealed right and on top of needing to repleace that it damaged the roof where it's pulled back. So a great start to the new year i must say!!
Jim 2 Posted January 2, 2007 Bloody hell! I've never heard of that happening in all my years on this forum! So what - the panel just flipped up and off into the side of the road or what?!
Goldie 2 Posted January 2, 2007 Thats a first to me as well. Youve been very unlucky there, youre also very lucky that the sunroof didnt end up in somebody elses car!!
Walesy 0 Posted January 2, 2007 And you left the sunroof in my fecking back garden! It might be worth mentioning, that Chaz was on a strip of private runway that runs parallel to the A30 cruising at around 120MPH when it happened, so it's not something that you need to add to your list of paranoias whilst on the motorway under more 'normal' speeds
chaz g60 0 Posted January 2, 2007 Like i said i was giving my charger a wee run! yeah i was going to fast but still didn't expect that. And if there was a car behind me it would of been a terrible situ it would of killed someone if it went through a windscreen I'll discard of that "used" sunroof when im down man, knew it forget somthing. Just got to find a replacment now.

Seriously tho, that bloody strange! You sure its not an ejector seat?
Walesy 0 Posted January 3, 2007 I reckon it might have been an ejector seat - looking at the mark on Chaz's missus' shoulder from the force of the seatbelt it's the only thing that stopped her from dissapearing through the roof   I certainly didn't expect his sunroof to arrive before he did anyway
