big_chris1981 0 Posted January 4, 2007 are there any known bypasses for the box of shit, sorry tricks behind the dash? VAG COM is throwing up an inpluasable value error...... pming me might be better from a security point of view ;)
dr_mat 0 Posted January 4, 2007 Um, making it work properly usually does the trick .. ! It's keyed into the ECU, so no, there's no easy way around it.
big_chris1981 0 Posted January 4, 2007 the problem would be that we dont have a matched set of clocks, transponder, and ecu...... and now the ecu is refusing to talk to the vagcom...grrrr
dr_mat 0 Posted January 4, 2007 Don't think the other things do need to match. You just need a matching key and ECU. As long as your transponder is reading the code from the key and passing it to the ECU .. ? Or at least, that's how I thought it worked ..

exturbo2003 0 Posted January 5, 2007 might find its the immob brain or ariel. try following the ariel from the barrel to the box and remove and wd40 all connectors and then try
NormanCoal 0 Posted January 5, 2007 the key is coded to the reader, and then the ECU is matched. As long as the key and reader match, then it is possible to recode another ECU to work, as long as it is exactly the same type of ECU - bear in mind there are lots of variations over the years
