Heater fan motor Should I go VAG or GSF

Hi

 

Got the dash out while I change the heater matrix and my heater fan motor is getting a bit noisy so I thought I would change that as well.

 

Is it worth going VAG or will a GSF one do?

£300!!!! they can pee off. I mean the bit in the passenger well that can squels over time! I will have a look on ebay, or maybe just go to gsf.

Yeah - GSF sell the Valeo heater fans for about £45 + vat (same part as VAG)

PHEW!! Thought £300 was a bit much, but shows how much VW overcharge when I just accpeted that they might charge that much!

 

GSF order going through this afternoon.

if you search some of the posts on heater matrixes I think the general conclusion is that VAG ones are now a stronger mk3 revised part that doesn't require the recall by-pass valves (as fitted to the 4 pots at least), the pattern ones are generally OK though, worth pricing them up though, the VAG one should have a 2 yr warranty I think.

Yeah I read that, I just wondered if the gsf ones had caught up as well? I will just go to VAG, i dont intend to do it again!

I was gonna say Steve - it's usually me talking crap :lol:

 

I believe that got mine from GSF, but can't remember.

 

I think all non-AC Corrados use the same heater box so the motor should be the right one.
