johnxl1s 0 Posted October 23, 2003 does 320 miles sound ok to a full tank of petrol around town etc, i have three cars now:2002 tdi redeye-1993 polo and of course the 2.0 1992 16v which is the car in question, also i have to sell either the polo or the corrado cause my other half cannot drive the corrado and the polo is more economical, which in turn means if i sell the polo i will rarely get to drive the tdi- who goes you decide ! cheers john

johnxl1s 0 Posted October 23, 2003 forgot to say,it has now a push-button start, seems very good for a vr
Bally 0 Posted October 23, 2003 My 1.8 on the motorway will do 350ish on a good run, around town about 300ish... so thats good mate :D
biggrim 0 Posted October 23, 2003 Do the VR's not have a bigger fuel tank aswell?
Henny 0 Posted October 23, 2003 I used to get about 350 miles outta my 1.8 16V 'rado (small tank) and I used to get about 320 miles outta my G60 (bigger tank). I have no idea what the fuel economy will be like with my new engine, but I'm guessing it's not going to be as good!  8)
rob 0 Posted October 23, 2003 I do about 450 in my 2.0 16v out of town and about 350-380 in town and driving it hard sometimes :D It all depends really but that sounds about right to me
vr6storm 0 Posted October 23, 2003 Do the VR's not have a bigger fuel tank aswell? they certainly do biggrim......15 gals over 12 gals of the earlier models
vr6storm 0 Posted October 24, 2003 right govt. fuel figures for the 2.0 16v Corrado were urban-23.7mpg!!!!!  my VR gets similar to this btw 56mph-47.1mpg 75mph-37.7mpg
johnxl1s 0 Posted October 24, 2003 would tuning the car make it more ecnomical, i not mechanicaly minded but could it be it is burning to much fuel, because before i got the head gasket fixed i was getting 420miles to a full tank ?, but now it is going great but harder on the juice. MikeVR6 0 Posted October 27, 2003 but now it is going great but harder on the juice. Maybe you're just driving it harder now it's running sweet. I had a similar problem when I drilled my airbox and fitted a K+N. Heavy right foot syndrome :D
davidwort 0 Posted October 29, 2003 I think all post 92 cars had the 70 litre tank rather than the early 55 litre one. David. Do the VR's not have a bigger fuel tank aswell? they certainly do biggrim......15 gals over 12 gals of the earlier models
