Jez 0 Posted October 23, 2003 Hi, have recently got a set of koni TAs with H&R springs. Only problem is I don't think 30mm a 30mm drop is good enough! stevemac 0 Posted October 25, 2003 Do they make the ride harsher? When you lower a car, you effectively give the suspension less room to travel (shorter shocks, springs, etc). Therefore the springs & shocks must be stiffer to stop your suspension from bottoming out when you go over bumps in the road. In short - YES your ride should get progressively harsher the lower you set the suspension. However, if you're thinking of cutting your existing springs down then your suspension will not get any stiffer at all. You will run the risk of hitting the bumpstops on a regular basis though !! Andy T 0 Posted October 27, 2003 Sorry, what I meant was, do the Bonrath lowering caps make the ride harsher? i.e, To make the car sit lower have they replaced a rubber part with a thin steel plate etc., which will make the ride harsher, or is it just clever design using the same materials to make the spring sit higher in the arch? I remember GermanCarCompany advised me against lowering caps on my old polo a few years back for this reason, just wondered if it was the same case for the C.
