swfblade 0 Posted March 15, 2007 Fit my DDI stuff the other day, firstly can I say it looks 8) very happy. Only issue I do now have is the Red digital bit. I've seen all the pics of the guys who have this and its got red digits on a black background. Well mine is Red digits on a slightly darker red background! What have I done wrong?!? :(
KADVR6 0 Posted March 15, 2007 hi mate, did you take ofF the factory film on the LCD??? you need to take that off, and replace it with the LCD film provided with the kit. hope this helps karl
swfblade 0 Posted March 15, 2007 yes i did that. Just to reiterate, I think I followed the instructions correctly: Removed old filter, then order of bits: new filter, Glass, Red filters, white filter, white plastic bit.
Bojmobile 0 Posted March 15, 2007 Have you reversed the polarizing film on the LCD display?
swfblade 0 Posted March 15, 2007 yeah im pretty sure I did, as the other way around it'd just be dark red numbers on a light red background, surely, or am i missing the point?
Bojmobile 0 Posted March 15, 2007 If you reverse the standard polarizing film (black numbers on a transparent back ground) you'll get a black background with transparent no.s that when illuminated with for example a red LED the numbers will be red on a black background. As visible in the (poor quality) pics below:-
G60SC_Stoney 0 Posted March 15, 2007 i balls mine up too, ended up putting the film in the wrong place, and ruined it pulling it back off. so now have the standard green backlit displays.....
swfblade 0 Posted March 16, 2007 Bojmobile, thats how i wanted it to look! but mine look a more like the dodgy photoshop below.
Guest Posted March 16, 2007 it's the right way round, as the numbers are brighter than the background, which is the reverse of of the OEM setup. did you use both the red filters? It looks correct, just too bright
swfblade 0 Posted March 16, 2007 yeah used both red filters in the order described above :?
Guest Posted March 16, 2007 They are the right way round, just brighter :-/ Have no idea mate, if you used all the filters etc, mine went quite a bit darker with the second filter fitted
Bojmobile 0 Posted March 16, 2007 Looks to me like there's no polarizing film on the LCD.
swfblade 0 Posted March 16, 2007 i can assure you there is! the new polarizing film that came in the kit, in front of the screen, with red filters & 1 white behind screen
Bojmobile 0 Posted March 16, 2007 Just looks like numbers and background are transparent. Did you keep the original film?
KADVR6 0 Posted March 16, 2007 sounds like you have done it all the right way :? but just to make sure, is this how you have done it... http://www.dubdesignindustries.com/inst ... filter.pdf karl
Guest Posted March 16, 2007 Looks to me like there's no polarizing film on the LCD. nah, don't think thats the problem, the polarisation looks right, just the brightness isn't
swfblade 0 Posted March 16, 2007 yeah those are the instructions i followed. Thats how ive done it, altho there didnt seem to be something to peel off on both sides of the new polarizing film.
KADVR6 0 Posted March 17, 2007 trust me, there is a very very thin film on the other side of the sticky side, i had to use a scalpel to find it.
