CD Player not working properly in MK 3 Golf.

Hi, Sorry its not Corrado related. I have a Mk 3 golf that the CD player doesn't work as it should. It only powers up when the key in in the ignition and works fine. Then when the key is turned it goes off and stays off, it looses it memory too. When the key is turned back it operates fine again. Just wondered if anyone could give me any clues as to what it could be. Thanks in an advance.

you need to switch the +ve (memory and ign) cables on the back of the unit. They are often red and orange, yellow etc, and come with plugs on the loom ready to do this

Could also be a faulty ignition switch...

I'd go with thetino's diagnosis.

 

Usually it just means swapping 2 wires around - there will be instructions on how to do this in the manual :)

i'd go wth the 1st diagnosis..usually the kenwood headunits u gotta do this kinda thing..
