LisaK 0 Posted March 29, 2007 Most of you should recognise my car - I bought her in early March of this year from "Symtheus" who bought her from "stevemac" in 2006. Full spec of the car when I bought it is as follows: Engine: Jabba R1 Charger with 68mm pulley (though I think G-werks looked at since then but before I had it) SNS chip RSR charger outlet Boost return removed Carbon can removed Jabbasport ported & flowed head with red top injectors Solid front engine mount Piper 270 degree cam with Kent adjustable cam pulley Fully ported throttle body Jetex Cone Filter with heatshield Magnex stainless steel exhaust with CAT bypass pipe Exterior: 17'' Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 Wheels(Black) Lowederd 60mm on Boge Gas Shocks and lowering springs Smoked Side repeaters Lupo wiper conversion New three bar grille Interior: Momo leather steering wheel Sony single CD Vibe component front speakers (140w) Vibe 6x9 shelf speakers (360w) Custom MDF parcel shelf 12" Infinity Kappa sub Soundlab 4x120w amp (shelf & components) Lanzar 400w amp (Sub) Oxygen free speaker cable Professional quality RCA leads Custom MDF boot floor Pictures of how she looks at the moment (taken by Symtheus): Soon after getting her home I got her inspected by my local garage and one problem I didn't know about was spotted - the front brakes were knackered on the inner side of the disc and only by taking the wheel off was it noticeable. I knew the brakes were a bit spongey when taking her out of a test drive so expected them to have to be changed at some point, although not as soon as I expected :? I haven't done a great deal to her apart yet from change the steering wheel from a highly annoying, flat bottomed Momo thing to a completely black Richbrook wheel that doesnt slip out of my hands when I go round corners: I've also bought some Black Diamond drilled and grooved front discs and pads and fully adjustable KW V2 suspension, both of which will be fitted tomorrow (30/03): I had her on the rollers today and the results are: A pleasing 192.5bhp at the flywheel and 195.4 lb/t but a disappointing bhp figure at the wheels - 141bhp :( I have many more plans that will be revealed in the near future 8)
dukest 0 Posted March 29, 2007 well everyone's looking but no comments so i will! looking very menacing and i'm sure will look even better on the kw v2s - you are being nice to it already! the new steering wheel looks great too, very smart. will get round to a gallery of my own later this year, but same as you, a few plans to be worked first! Jim 2 Posted March 29, 2007 Love the fact that you're putting black discs behind black wheels on a black car.. project shadow is an apt name! Looks very good, definately.. looking forward to seeing how it progresses :)
LisaK 0 Posted March 29, 2007 duke_st, thanks, I was getting a bit disheartened! Jim, it won't stay completely black - I'll be adding a few touches to it to make it stand out (which will stay a secret til I have done them!) but overall, it'll stay looking menacing and mean :evilbat:
G60SC_Stoney 0 Posted March 29, 2007 looks good, was going to say its bum needs to come down a bit, but as you are putting new suspension theres no point!!! looks good! will look even better no doubt, very mean!
LisaK 0 Posted March 29, 2007 The suspension on it at the mo is complete pants so it needed to be changed anyway. The shocks aren't shortened yet its been lowered 60mm and causes the front to bounce hard but the back bounce softer which then makes it skip across the drains and small bumps - not good for the car, nor my insides! Goldie 2 Posted March 29, 2007 Looks like a good motor... Enjoy...
peanut 0 Posted March 30, 2007 looked really goodwhen you drove past at fleet. Are the rims staying or going for something different? slightly smaller and wider perhaps? Seems to be a lot of transmission loss on the RR or is that normal for g60? Coming along nicely though Gav

Jim Bowen 1 Posted March 30, 2007 nice, not bad for a j-reg at all, looks very clean. Black rims look awesome.

too hot 0 Posted March 30, 2007 Looks good but I think I would lose the black wheels. Not my taste but as you are calling it project shadow I can see where you are going. 8) Good luck with the mods
LisaK 0 Posted March 30, 2007 All will be revealed when I get my other wheels refurbed and do the other little bits to make it look less black.... and NO that doesn't mean painting the calipers pink vwdeviant :-P
Jim Bowen 1 Posted March 30, 2007 what do your female friend think of the car? i don't think i know 1 lady that even knows what mine is infact i don't know many ladies full stop tbh

Toad 0 Posted March 30, 2007 My best friend kindly said this: What is that? It looks weird. Like a wedge of cheese. Yeah, black cheese  ROFL... I like that comment..... My 16v loses 41hp through the transmission. I think it's down to having an old tired gearbox (183k). I've got a 110k mile unit which I'll probably wack in. Otherwise, good power/torque. I'd be well pleased with that.
Blue_Joe 0 Posted March 30, 2007 I wouldnt worry too much about the power loss if I was you. Too much emphasis is placed on bhp whereas the real story is told in the torque. And 192lb/ft is a very respectable figure!!!! That comes from the Big Valve head and Cam that stevemac put in!!!!
JMC 0 Posted March 30, 2007 Love the car - black on black. Looks like well, mine, with that colour scheme. Soooo, big thumbs up :thumbleft: Good power and torque curve, but why the drop off after 5500 - mine does it too above 6000, but never had a satisfactory explanation as to why???? Shaggy 0 Posted March 30, 2007 At that sort of revs the ISV maybe opening trying to get rid of excess boost?? 0.8bar max on most G60s then the ISV bleeds..??
ZippyVR6 0 Posted March 30, 2007 Nice power curve, Shees a good looking car. Id be interested to know what you make of the discs once they are worn in. I find mine are great but they squeek like a mouse in a microwave. A few subtle bits to break up the black would be cool.
JMC 0 Posted March 30, 2007 At that sort of revs the ISV maybe opening trying to get rid of excess boost?? 0.8bar max on most G60s then the ISV bleeds..?? Hi Mike, sorry I missed you at No-Rice. Yeah, was wondering about that, however mine happily goes along around 0.8bar between 3500 and 5800rpm, then by 6000 it has dropped to 0.6 bar. Presumably if it tried to go above 0.8 bar it will only vent until it gets back to 0.8 bar. Wonder if it's detecting knock and backing off??

Thats alright mate, i didnt even know you where there..lol Yeah that would also explain it then... the ISV bleeds of at 5800rpm regardless i think. its part of the ECU map i believe. The only way to get around the problem is to either remove the ISV or get a re-route kit.... but its not yet proven whether its a safe method tbh... Or you could just get a 250kpa map sensor.. this would mean the isv would bleed of at higher pressure.. you would also need to get the car remapped again..
