vwdeviant 0 Posted April 27, 2009 Looking at yours yesterday Lisa I do need to come down a bit at the front (about 1/2 a Marlboro packet according to my exact "measure"!).... but how did the C cope with the Himalayas getting out the my road? Remembering I have to do them twice each time I go anywhere!
LisaK 0 Posted May 10, 2009 I took my car on the rollers at AMD Tecknik, West Thurrock earlier today (along with a group of ricers). The only power-related mod Ive done since the first RR is swapping the SNS chip to an updated G-Werks version. I'll upload the dyno print later but the figures arent to be sniffed at... 210bhp and 213lb/ft at the fly and only 29bhp loss at the wheels compared to around 50bhp loss last time round :D happy, happy, happy!!! (AMD Technik specialise in German autos so they were happy they could test a VW, very impressed by how the G ran and one of their staff now wants to buy it :) Their customer service couldnt be faulted and we were brought round courtesy tea, coffee and a selection of biscuits. The rollers seem to be pretty accurate too as a standard Mondeo st200 ran and got near enough 200bhp).

LisaK 0 Posted May 11, 2009 Its in very good health then.Very good considering the warm weather aswell. R u thinking of selling then? Yep, in the next few months :) Time to sell up then Lisa. The rice is calling. :ignore: Although if my engine turns out to be "goosed" I've been told, by the other half, to buy a new car! First Dibs Lisa? Er... :ignore: nice figures 8) Just need to emulate the VR sound now  how have you reduced the loss from fly to wheels? With a lumpy cam idle, a straight through stainless exhaust, deleted boost return, RSR outlet and more than a stage 5 charger rebuild I dont want or need the sound of a V6 as my C sounds plenty more individual and meatier than that :) As for the fly to wheel power loss, not a clue! Maybe just more accurate rollers I guess? 50hp is quite a bit of loss for FWD..

Toad 0 Posted May 11, 2009 As for the fly to wheel power loss, not a clue! Maybe just more accurate rollers I guess? 50hp is quite a bit of loss for FWD.. Or less accurate rollers... Rolling roads are far from an exact science, the drivetrain loss is a rough estimate, but is affected by tyres, wheel sizes, alignment, tyre pressures how the car is strapped down, etc etc. 50bhp sounds a lot of loss, but it's only 25%, which isn't a million miles out... vwdeviant 0 Posted May 18, 2009 Funny looking Celica GT4! :cuckoo: 1:15 hits "Spoiler speed" Big puff of smoke on over-run though? Hope the "Metal" sounds were the rollers?
LisaK 0 Posted May 18, 2009 Jon, you know the G overfuels and the apparent 'metal' sound is a combination of the charger and RSR outlet, duh. The car is quite healthy unlike yours, my dear :)
