dazzyvr6 0 Posted October 29, 2003 this is what happened when i was passing a load of lorries at around 70mph in the rain,the passenger side wipers just seemed to tottaly lose itself,not sure whats happend yet just hope the shaft hasnt sheered off,and hope the motor hasnt burnt out as it was stuck there for at least 10 miles till i could pull over :? :shock: Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Nick_Micouris 0 Posted October 29, 2003 That EXACT same thing happened to me after GTI international... The bolt had come loose on the passenger arm and the arm was banging at full speed then it came off too far and mangled itself in the drivers side. Have now gone for the higly recommended Lupo mod. BUT even after done I noticed the wipers were banging. I checked the spline on the spindle - looked fine. Turns out that the spindle itself had become loose and needed tightening down as it was making the arm move further than intended.
