vwdeviant 0 Posted April 24, 2007 Ok not Corrado related (unless you own a cab. conversion).... Any-one have any advice about restoring/cleaning/protection Cabby hoods? The new Cabby's roof's a little on the green side so needs a good clean and also something to protect it. What are best products to use?
herisites 0 Posted April 24, 2007 Is it a fabric hood??? When cleaning a soft top the best way is to rinse with a hose (not a pressure washer), quick brush over with a soft brush, pat dry with drying towel. Then a good tip is to then go over it with one of those lint rollers to collect all fibres left from the drying towel and general crap. Then protect it with either: AG Fabric Convertible Kit Chemical Guys Fabric Guard 3M Heavy Duty Scotchguard The scotchguard can be bought from B&Q for about a tenner. Some other good stuff is Renovo which is supposed to be very good for faded roofs but quite expensive.
vwdeviant 0 Posted April 24, 2007 Hippy Barfday Rob! Yeah is a fabric roof... Have "£40 worth of cleaning products" in the boot but didn't look too closely as to what they were... will see tonight... Deffo not A/glymm though..
herisites 0 Posted April 24, 2007 Cheers! I would imagine just an all purpose cleaner would do the trick as well, just give it a good scrub!
Phil K 0 Posted April 24, 2007 I used the AG hood cleaner and restorer - £20 from Halfords... works well! The water was very dark green after I had finished! Wouldn't say it looks as new but it's really made a difference!
