steveo29 0 Posted November 1, 2003 yeah thats what i mean...so judging by you mine revs way too hard anyone know how to alter it?
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted November 1, 2003 When it's idling at 2500rpm, tap the idle valve with a hammer and see what happens then. If it drops to 1100 straight away, try cleaning the valve out with some carb cleaner and then a little WD40 to keep the valve lubricated. A KR should idle at 1100 when cold and then 950 when hot. Your base CO might be out too. KRs run best at 2.0% CO. Kev
steveo29 0 Posted November 1, 2003 no..its no a faulty isv...it goes to 2500 on start up then gently settles to 1100 ish wouldnt the c/o need to be miles out to cause that?..anyway it idles at 900 with the isv disconected
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted November 1, 2003 OK, around the thermotime switch are 3 temp senders. One of them (blue/white wire from memory) controls the idle speed. Check the wiring here. The idle should be 1000rpm with the isv disconnected. Kev
