Air con - Missing hose

Recommended Posts

Can anyone tell if there is a hose missing from the back of my air con pump? The air con hasnt worked since i got the car and im guessing thats the problem.... also where would the hose go to? and is it possible to get another one easily (have included a pic below)?

Any help would be realy good, any diagrams of the air con system would be fantastic.... its the diavia setup i think.

Cheers

Hello,

One hose goes to the Evaporator and one to the condenser (rad) - I think you are missing the latter which is £200 from VW...

I would take it to an A/C specialist and see what they think is needed - they will probably be able to get the pipe made up much cheaper...

What are the chances of finding one in a scrap yard, are they the same on mk3 golf?

thanks for the fast reply by the way!!

Knowing the Corrado they are probably slightly different... (but may still fit)

Thing is it will need to be recharged etc so I reckon you are best getting some pro advice first and like I say they may have another firm that can make hoses, it's only plumbing at the end of the day!

You're going to need a new drier too as they don't like fresh air getting into them for more than a few hours apparently, if you don't know how long the pipe has been missing it's sure to be fried.
