KeithC 0 Posted June 15, 2007 I'm building a Corrado Track Car and i can't deside what brakes to run. Ill proberbly be using 5stud hubs pressed into the G60 hub carrier. I can run up to 17" wheels. Will be using a Pedal Box aswell and the car should be around 1000kgs or less when built. Any1 any suggestions?
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted June 15, 2007 If you're using 17s, there's plenty of choice. Budget - Bigger OE discs and calipers, i.e. 312 setup off TT/4 motion/Skoda Octupus etc etc. Midrange - Ibiza and Leon Brembo kits from Badger5.co.uk, Wilwood 4 pots, Hi Spec kits, etc. High end - AP Racing, Brembo Gran Turismo, Brembo Monoblocs, TAR-OX, Endless, Winnerpower etc Top end - Alcon, Mov-it, "Big red" setup off the 911 etc etc The benefit of all the 4 pot kits listed is reduced unsprung weight aswell as repeatable stopping power, which are important for a track car. Recommended strong and light 17" wheel to clear the brakes - Team Dynamics Pro Race 1 (same wheel as the Team Halfords BTCC integra). Recommend track pad with serious bite - Pagid RS15, aka "Pagid Greys". Also, as you're aiming for only 1000kg, don't go for massive discs, you don't need them. Focus on caliper and pad quality.
