Just detailed the Cabby....

Recommended Posts

Seen as the weather held out.... thought I'd attack the cabby, seen as there's lots of swirls and merring in the paint...

Was planning on doing the whole car, but decided just to do the bonnett seen as I knew it was gonna be a tough one ;)

As you can see.... the paint was really bad, so many swirls the paint had gone completely dull

Firstly Washed the bonnet with Megs NXT, as always using 2 bucket method then clayed the paint work to see what I was

left with...

Results... Not as bad, but still very swirled and murred....

So out came the PC.....

Started firstly with SFX-2 Pad with Menz I.P. The results were ok but it was still evident that more cut was needed.

Stepped up to more abrasive, SFX-1 Pad with Menz P.G

The results were alot better, just that little more extra umpf, especially being Old VAG paint...... I then finished off with Menz FF to gve that depth and glaze....

I'd had enough by now.... the bonnet had taken best part of the day!!!! I'll finish off with a Some Mgs NXT Tech wax tomorrow...

Might I just add that this is the second time I've actually attempted detailing and still learning.... But I'm very happy with the results :)

lol.... My hands had been in water for ages, so went all crincled

To detail the whole car, depending on condition.... it can take awhole day!!! Also the size of the car too.

Tis hard work, but well worth it in the end ;)
