Raising the mileage...?

Recommended Posts

I'm swapping over my clocks and am wondering if there's a way to bring the new clocks forward so the mileage remains consistant and doesn't drop by 50k or so. Figured that would probably look quite dodgy!!

Is there a way to do this, kind of reverse clocking??

My current clocks don't have MFA2 and the spoiler doesn't work, so I'm guessing a loose earth I had a while back caused this as both issues started right after...

Will see when the new ones go in whether or not it solves...

I would assume that plugging a spare speed sensor in and attaching an electric drill to it would do the job, but I wouldn't bother. Just put a sticker in saying +50k or whatever....

I believe that with the right equipment yes you can flash a new mileage onto a set of clocks (and even then it can only be done *upwards*), but it's dealer-only and you're unlikely to find them doing it for fun and certainly not for free.

Would VAG-Com be able to do it?

Considering jumping on the group buy for it anyway. Would be useful to have...

No to VAGCOM but Guy Hartley used to do digital mileage 'correction'

Toad - good idea but made me think of Feris Buellers Day Off... :D
