spuduk_99 0 Posted November 5, 2003 I want a corrado, will have to be a 2.0 16v for insurance purposes. thing is, i've seen quite a few turbo'd mazda mx5's for sale. Now, the corrado may be THE best looking car on the road, but the mazda has a huge power to weight advantage (have been told mx5 turbo puts out about 175hp, against the 'raddos 136hp, and i can see the mx5 being far lighter) . Do i go for the corrado or for a hair dressers car on steroids? what do you reckon?
VR6 0 Posted November 5, 2003 Well if you're limited to a 2.0 16v for insurance, how are you going to afford a turbo'd MX5? Just curious. A turbo'd MX5 sounds very good actually. Corrado everytime though ;) (Less scissor compartments - sorry Andi ;))
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted November 5, 2003 The MX-5 is in the top ten list of "Best handling cars - ever". They are an absolute hoot to drive and a power slider's dream. 1600 is weedy. 1800 (146bhp) is best of the NA ones. The blown ones were done in the UK by Brodie Britain Racing (BBR) and endorsed by Mazda, meaning the car's warranty isn't invalidated. You don't so much as drive a MX-5, but wear it. It's too small for my liking and has questionable status on the street. If you can live with that, it's the car for you. I'm sorry but the C is just too much of an enthusiast's car and it's foibles will drive you nuts if you're the sort of person that just likes to get in and drive.
