Wont start without gas

Hey,

 

Bought a corrado VR6 today. Has 115k on it and FSH. Couple of wee problems with it one being it wont start without you giving it some gas.

 

Any ideas what this may be??

Might be an idea to list the others .. they might be related.

 

How long do you wait cranking it before hitting the pedal? Are you sure it doesn't just take a few more turns? Probable causes of cold start problems are the array of temp sensors on the engine, and possibly injector problems too.

 

First things first, get the ECU errors read and start there.

cheers for the response. Other problems are mainly cosmetic and bits like the fan belt tensioner is away.

 

Will scan with vagcom tomorrow and see whats showing.

right. No errors with vagcom. Changed fuel filter, oil and filter and plugs and still the same problem.

 

If you turn it over then stop after about 3secs and do it again it will start or if you give it some gas the first time you turn it over it will start (pedal needs to be nearly right on the floor)

 

Any other ideas??
