head unit problem maybe

with my head unit it does not turn on when you start the car.. you have to press the power or ource button to turn it on... then when i switch the car off the headunit stays on..... this is only anoying because it is a sony flip down eadunit which is motorised and i have to wait for the damm thing to flip down|!!!!!!! :mad:

 

btw when installin the head unit i notices some bodyed and dogy wiring behind the headunit... maybe the periovious owner ****** wit the wiring please help and also does your head units need manually switching off and on....

with mine,as soon as you take the key out it shuts off,and you can turn it back on by just pressing the ignition barrell

Basically depending on the car there are 3 ways of wiring in the stereo...

 

On Sony units, there is a yellow and red wire on the adapter that need to be swapped over (plugs should be already there for this) for it to turn on and off with the ignition.

 

If this doesn't work i suggest you get the wiring checked and put back to ISO standards.
