7.5" width clearance issues

Recommended Posts

Ello all, seen some rims I wouldn't mind in 7.5j x 16 ET35, (they currently have 215/40's on) just wondering if anyone running this size (and a 40mm drop) has any clearance issues without arch work.

Done a calculation using a tool on the net, which reckons 19mm less clearance on both sides (as my existing wheels are 6j x 15 ET35).

Arch work required? Or maybe just squeeze em in? Want to get them tucked in really, as there are more speed humps than people round by me!

Feedback much appreciated.

Cheers. :D

Exactly the same set up as me but im prob 10mm lower mate.

No probs with clearance, only full lock it gets a very slight catch nothing worth worrying about.

Ok so i just re read your question after skim reading it the 1st time.

I run 17 x 7.5 wheel et 35 with 215 x 40 tyres

So they will still be a good fit and ride roughly the same height as mine as i gain an inch on the wheel but im slightly lower, so kinda evens itself out.

yep agreed you should be fine, i have 215 40 16's on 7j rims the offset is e43, lowered about 60-80mm its got loads of clearance, easily a thumbs width between the inside of the arches and the tires, this is on a vr where the standard wheels are 6.5 x 15's et43 you'll actually notice your tires are now smaller than originally especially with the slight stretch on those 215's so it seems like it'll be a nice fit 8)
