probably, it can look odd on some cars, i personnally like a bit of black on any car, i think its an important bit of the design

i'm going to have mine painted black tho, instead of having them as plastic that fades and each piece a different shade of grey

If you're going for Concourse judging for an orginal car then any deviation from how it left the factory will lose you points.

As dinkus says, ANY deviation from factory spec will indeed loose a few points.

Even painting the mouldings black would surely loose a couple at least. :(

They are being painted to look like clean black plastic, also i dont think it will see a show as they are all to far away from me :( . just wonderd if it would loose points seeing as polishing up normally dull metal seems to help and thats not a factory look :?

It's obviously your choice as to what you do to your car but just to clarify re what's 'allowed' for 'original' spec showing.

In a 'daily driver' or 'show and shine' type competition things like polishing manifolds will not loose points and may even give you an upper hand but where true concours is concerned polished manfolds etc will not do you any good. Clean manifolds is what is required i.e. no stains or corrosion.

Regarding painting the plastic to look like clean black plastic, it is something that expert concours judges would notice (it is scary how much detailed knowledge they have and how expert an eye).

As I said, it is your car and I am in no way trying to tell you what you can or can't (or should or shouldn't) do to it :) but why paint them if you do decide to keep them black? There are good products out there to clean up and keep black the black bits.

Either way, enjoy,

x
