Inpro headlight detailing

Recommended Posts

'lo all,

Wondering if anyone else has tinted the reflectors on the chrome inpro lights, what they used to do it and how? Not sure what it would look like so a pic from anyone who has done it would be appreciated. I know this has been done alot on the OEM headlights but havent seen inpro lights with it - could be saying it doesnt work or plain just dont do it. Advice?

Thanks

Gaz

I did mine when I first bought them as I thought they were a bit too bling. I planned to do it by masking off what I didn't want to paint and then spraying with plastic primer/satin black after roughing things up a bit with a schotchbrite but found that my masking tape pulled off the silvering on the bit I tested. I could have waited to get some not very sticky msaking tape but instead was very careful with a brush and a couple of coats of hammerite smooth. Given the chance I think I'd have waited as I'm not 100% happy and may one day strip them and have another go!

They strip down pretty easy and the angel eyes pop out too so that you can mask it up neatly, you just need the non-sticky tape.

Cheers tonedef.

Thats what im thinking, the lights look just a tad bit bling. I dont want to necessarily paint them black though. Just to darken the chrome a bit, but not sure if this will be possible.
