Trav's G60 project- 9/17- Woes and pics, page 5

Recommended Posts

I just registered here and thought I'd share my Corrado with you guys. I picked it up early July. It's a 1990 G60. The previous owner left it in a field for three years, touching it only to modify it, so it's not in the best of shape, but I'm working on it.

Mechanical:

G60 with original charger

95k miles

K&N Air Filter

Porsche fuel injectors (not sure what kind)

H&R Sport springs

5spd manual

Body:

Passable condition (Maybe a 6/10)

Needs new front drivers side fender

Needs paint

Black hood (not carbon fibre, just black paint)

American Racing 15" rims

Spoiler doesn't work

Interior:

Red dot in good shape (8/10)

Seatbelts work

Boston Accoustic and Sony speakers

Custom trunk cover

I've got alot of work to do on it still, but it's come a long ways from when I picked it up.

When we first picked it up:

Just realised... could do with a new chin spioler.. and a 90mm one at that!

Yeah, the front lip is trashed. I just bought a new fender to put on the drivers side, I just have to paint it and put it on.

I used Christmas money to get stuff and paint my wheels... here is the finished product. I'm really hapy with it, but I ran over a nail while I was out taking these pictures. :(

I was home a few weeks ago and cleaned up the cars. I've also got about $800 that I'm about to put into my C, and even more after I finish with the Porsche and get it sold.

I also have a new fender to put on in place of that bruised one, just painted in Tornado Red :D

If anyone really cares, a brief update on my project.

I'm going home tomorrow night so I can finally relay my headlights so I can see more than ten feet in front of my car. I'm also hoping to swap the performance chip in it with a Neuspeed chip. Also I might start prepping the block for paint. Also I finally have the $$$ saved up for a Stage4 g-lader rebuild from Kompressorkanada :D

Updates:

Fixed headlight relays

Neuspeed performance chip

Fixed windshield wipers

It was a nice(er) day today, so I took a break from my monster of a paper today and felt I should do something productive.

Looks like you turned her around. Good job man, you're a brave soul for taking the G60 way.

Thanks a bunch. I've considered trading it for a VR or just doing the swap many times, but currently mine is the only working G60 in my local group, and all of the flack from them makes me want to keep going with my G60.

I went out and took a not so bright engine pic:

I put a new suspension on her a few days ago, but it didn't lower it too much. I also got the original hood and spoiler out and put it back on. I'll clean it up and take better pics of it once the snow goes away. I'm also preparing to repaint the wheels.

Thanks. We had almost two feet, but thankfully it was in the garage. As for the black/red look, I did like it because it gave it individuality, but it also made me feel extremely immature while driving it, as well as the flack I got from other drivers on the road (insults, etc). Eventually it's going to be completely two-toned, but until then I'm going to roll with it like this. I'm going to go out and get a few better pics of it tomorrow.

I replaced that old bastard fender from Hell last night. Its gapped between the bumper, but I'm working on that tonight.
