Storm 0 Posted January 4, 2004 Guys, please be wary of Spax, I have always had comments about them being Sh1te. Also while were on the subject of adjustables, nearly every post I have seen suggests that the owner has them set on the softest setting, it would be interesting to know how this compares to say a Boge Turbo Gas? Venoms ad in PVW states "2003 build quality superb" They probably wouldn't say this unless there was a previous issue. Check out Venom, they have a very wide range. http://www.venommotorsport.com
DEL VR6 0 Posted January 8, 2004 £349 is the supply only price. You have to add a further £70ish quid (German & Swedish) for new front and rear bump stops, and front top mounts, as these will have become worn, and are best to be replaced, while you have got all the suspension off. Assuming i get mine delivered tomorow, they will be fitted this weekend, and i will be able to report back on my newly lowered VR6. I have gone for the adjustable. Please note however, only the ride quality is adjustable. They are not the ones which can also adjust ride height. These i believe are much more expensive. Pete 0 Posted January 8, 2004 I only want a small drop cos of the speed bumps on my street. Let me know how you get on Del...
DEL VR6 0 Posted January 9, 2004 yeah me too, which is why i have opted for a 40mm. (at least i think thats only a small drop!) Plus i dont want it to look too slammed. I just feel that the standard is too high and leaves too much gap in the arches for what i consider to be a serious sports car. will keep you posted Pete. DEL VR6 0 Posted January 12, 2004 Ok... the story so far... Got all the old suspension off on Saturday... The rears fitted straight away with no problem. The fronts however did hit a hitch. (Sodding typical)... The new springs have a slightly larger diameter at the top than the originals, and therefore, the springcap didnt fit. I have ordered newer larger ones, as VW do cater for this believe it or not. Only thing is cant get them til one day during the week. So now, the back looks really spot on with the new sleeker lower look, whilst the front looks basically stupid, like a 4x4. Gonna try and post up a pic later, just for comedy value. DEL VR6 0 Posted January 16, 2004 ITS DONE! Im well pleased with it, although i think the front looks lower than i originally wanted it to. Still looks good tho. Miles better. Its not been dry enough to see what its like on corners yet, but will inform as and when. Will post pics real soon. (still waiting for the USB lead for the camera!) Pete 0 Posted January 16, 2004 Nice one, would love to see the pics! Have you got standard alloys???
DEL VR6 0 Posted January 16, 2004 Nice one, would love to see the pics! Have you got standard alloys??? Yes Pete, Standard Alloys (15" Speedlines) I think it needs a set of 16inch BBS or Porsche Cup type alloys to truly give it the perfect look. Wont be for a while tho, having just spent the best part of £800 on lowering the car and fitting a Magnex! I cant stop lookin at the car since its been lowered. It has totally transformed the appearance. Will be posting the pics on here Sunday (if i get that 'illusive' lead ontime!)
Fine wine, Belgian chocs. 1 Posted January 20, 2004 Nice to hear you're pleased with it. It looked superb. Did we cure the exhaust knock? I've posted those stainless tailpipes for your Bug today too. They might need a bit of the old elbow grease but they'll never rust. 8) I hope you're gonna clean the Corrado before you take these pictures?

Fine wine, Belgian chocs. 1 Posted January 20, 2004 Yeah, shame the weathers sh1te at the moment. Taking my Corrado to the peak district for the weekend. Don't like taking her out in the rain. I'll get me polished wheel arches filthy. :D
DEL VR6 0 Posted January 20, 2004 Went there a couple of years ago when i had the Mk2 GTi. There are some lovely roads round there. (Long as it aint wet!). Just turn off down any narrow winding road, and you usually find that its a nice twisty fun road. The sort your Corrado will love. (Although I know how clean you like to keep your VR6, and it will mean you'll have to spend a couple of extra hours cleaning it afterwards with the cotton buds)
DEL VR6 0 Posted February 27, 2004 Pete, did u get your C lowered yet?
Corradovr6storm 0 Posted March 21, 2004 hi i ve been quoted £205+vat for a set of bilstein street line shocks and spring lowered by 35mm from gtiawesome in warrington. Talking to the gizza, he said althought this kit recommened upto g60 in the corrado range, rado vr6 owners are really happy with them because their not that stiff and the ride well. it they are 25% than standard suspension. he may just be chatting shit just to sell them. but if you look at this way their 25% firm which is stiffer than standard so can only be better with them on, it cant get any worst. i am seriously considering this option for my storm as i just dont have the dollars for coilovers. DEL VR6 0 Posted March 21, 2004 Make sure you replace the rubber bits (top mounts etc) at the same time. u can get these from somewhere like german & swedish.

A comment like that from AmD doesn't surprise me  I don't see how a 25mm thick steel bar can be brittle but obviously AmD know best  Better get mine off before it snaps!
