Steering wheel & gearknob question

Can you still buy the genuine VR6 steering wheel brand new (mines a bit worn ontop). Also Ive got a VW replacement gearknob, how do you get it on? I thought it just unscrewed but it dosen't.

hey

if its a standard gear knob it will just screw off, but there is a clip holding the gaiter onto it. you have to remove the base(the bit with karmann on it) and turn the gaiter inside out to get to it. very simple job when you know how :) and as for the steering wheel, I'm not sure, but i wouldn't like to think what they would charge if they did. i know for a fact a couple have been on here lately and on eBay, just keep a look out

There was a brand spanking new one on eBay recently, went for about 180 quid I think. Gawd only knows what it would cost from a dealer... :?

Bloody hell, so that's over 400 quid inc VAT... Gotta make more sense to get your existing one refurbished or restore your existing one given that most Corrado steering wheels out there are going to be at least 12 years old now.
