It's a DIV-X... I just had to install the codec from http://www.divx.com

 

Choose the free one and only install the codec and it'll work perfectly in Windows Media Player... 8)

Yep.. its DivX.

Oh... jedi-knight - you are better off right clicking the link and doing 'Save Target As' - as this is AVI/DivX it has to download the entire file before it can play it. So at least doing a Save Target As you will know how long you have left to go :)

jims16v, what prog did u use for encoding/compressing to divx? Im hoping to get a load of dv footage of the Scottish rr day on Sunday and will need to reduce the size.

Joe.. i'm not too sure.

 

It was a mate of mine who is all into this kind of thing who did it for me. I believe he used something called Show Shifter which he could then export in DivX format using the full DivX package / codec.

 

You could also use Adobe Premiere to do this kind of thing which is easy enough to come by if you know where you are looking.. though its a bit of a difficult program to use.

For anyone having problems getting hold of the video, there's a small one here...

The clip is about 9MB in size, Windows Media Player file and about 12 mins long in total. The C feature starts at about 5 mins into the clip.
