G-Lader 0 Posted November 26, 2003 when you first start the car up and have driven a little way the blower is nice and warm but when the temp gauge gets up to half way and beyond the heater blows cold? If its the thermostat id expect it to be cold all the time not change when the car warms up? Also the cars not overheating either? Any ideas folks Cheers
andycowuk 0 Posted November 27, 2003 Is your water level full? The reason I ask is that the top of the heater matrix is nearly as high as the min water level on the expansion tank, so the last few cm of expansion tank takes ages to fill! When the car is cold the thermostat will be closed, and the radiator might drain a little, so your heater matrix gets hot water, when the car heats up, the thermostat opens, the radiator fills up, and the heatermatrix is starved of water. Just a thought.
PhatVR6 0 Posted November 27, 2003 It'll be those stupid valve things VW fitted in the heater pipes during the matrix recall. take them out.
